Course Description: The course will focus on basic economics and markets correlated to market structure (types and characteristics of markets), market conduct (behavior, strategies employed in markets by consumers and sellers) and market performance (evaluation of outcomes based on price, quantity, quality and profits in various markets). Comparative analysis and assessments of markets, regulations, controls and laws which affect markets will be studied and evaluated. Projects and units will involve application of content to specific markets in regions.
The course will be offered in conjunction with Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska Career Education Conference in Kearney, Nebraska. Duration of the course will be until Friday, June 27, 2008, for students to submit required work for a course grade. Scholarships will be available for certified K-12 Nebraska teachers through Nebraska Council on Economic Education and CSC's Center for Economic Education.
