Help Make Great Things Happen

If you pick up a newspaper, you’ll find that nine of any ten problems that are reported can find their solutions in economic literacy. Think of some recent headlines:

  • "The Mortgage Crisis, The Housing Bubble and Politics"
  • "Stocks Tumble Following Jobs Report"
  • "Economy faces recession, probably in Q1"
  • "Economists See U.S. Avoiding Recession"

Economic literacy is an essential tool that everyone needs in order to make sense of the news, which can be both shocking and contradictory, plan for the future, and make good choices. An informed and literate public will make better choices, be better citizens and avoid potential pitfalls. By starting with our K-12 system and supporting ongoing education the Council is making incredible progress towards a brighter and better future for Nebraska.

The number one predictor of economic growth in a community is the educational achievement of its citizens, and the number one predictor of an entrepreneur’s success is an understanding of economics and markets. Here’s what your donation can do:

  • Sponsor a teacher for a 1-day class — $150
  • Purchase class materials for one teacher — $75
